It is officially the tallest cape in Europe, at a height of 580m, it feature its fabulous and famous large suspended glass platform.
The Cabo Girão viewing station is situated on the highest headland in Europe, it offers a vertigo induing view of the fajãs of Rancho and Cabo Girão – small areas of cultivated land at the base of the cliff – as well as magnificent panoramic views over the vast ocean and the neighborhood areas of Câmara de Lobos and Funchal.
The viewpoint has been restored and the unique selling point is a suspended glass platform, called a skywalk was installed. It is a great spot to paraglide and base jump. In 2010, a Portuguese parachutist Mário Pardo performed a spectacular motorcycle leap there.
